Rudenstine To Hold Office Hours for Students

President Neil L. Rudenstine will hold office hours for students in his Massachusetts Hall office on Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 5 p.m. Office hours are held on a first-come, first-served basis.

Harvard Neighbors To Review Artists' Portfolios

Harvard Neighbors will hold its annual portfolio review for Harvard- affiliated artists interested in applying to exhibit at the Harvard Neighbors Gallery during the 1999-2000 academic year. Portfolios will be accepted on Thursday and Friday, March 4 and 5, between noon and 2 p.m. at 17 Quincy St. Faculty and staff with regular full- or part-time positions and their spouses are encouraged to apply. The gallery space is located at Loeb House, 17 Quincy St.

William Randolph Hearst Funds Available

The William Randolph Hearst Fund has been established at the Medical School in honor of Isabelle and Leonard Goldenson and Ethel and Jack Hausman on behalf of handicapped children. The income from the fund is to be used by a member or members of the Faculty of Medicine to support research in the area of pre- and perinatal medicine, with particular emphasis on the prevention of neuromotor disabilities. Funds may be used to supplement support from other sources. Preference will be given to junior and/or new investigators.

Application guidelines can be obtained from the Harvard Medical School Sponsored Programs Administration. The amount of the award is $15,000 and the application deadline is May 1. For further information, contact Clint Schmidt at (617) 432-4221 or clinton_schmidt@hms.harvard.edu.

Law School Hosts Conference on Same-Sex Marriage

Harvard Law School Lambda ‹ in coordination with the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, the Harvard Civil Liberties Union, Gay & Lesbian Advocates and Defenders, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund's Marriage Project, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and the ACLU Lesbian and Gay Rights Project ‹ is hosting a winter conference on "Freedom to Marry: Consolidating Strategies, Planning Victories" to promote legal scholarship on the constitutional claim for same-sex marriage.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 13, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Austin Hall on the Law School campus and is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sharon McGowan at smcgowan@law.harvard.edu.
