HDNet to carry Ivy basketball

The Ivy League and HDNet, a high-definition network, have announced an Ivy League basketball network package that will carry seven league games this winter through DIRECTV. To view HDNet Channel 199, DIRECTV subscribers need a receiver and elliptical dish capable of receiving a high-definition signal. The Harvard men's team will be broadcast live on HDNet on Friday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m., when the Crimson square off against Brown.

SPH Poster Day registration

Faculty and students of the Harvard School of Public Health (SPH) are invited to participate in the 16th Annual Poster and Exhibit Day, to be held on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Kresge Building cafeteria. The posters and exhibits, to be prepared by students or by a team including students, will offer the SPH community a chance to learn more about the research and service activities at the School. The best posters will be eligible for a $500 prize.

Lieberman discusses Neanderthals on 'NOVA'

Daniel E. Lieberman, professor of biological anthropology, lends his expertise on human evolution and skeletal data to public television's "NOVA" on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. (locally on WGBH/ Channel 2). In a program called "Neanderthals on Trial," Lieberman discusses some of his research on the face and skull shape of Neanderthals that may - or may not - provide the genetic link between them and modern humans.
