Kokkalis graduate student workshop seeks papersDoctoral students are invited to submit proposals for papers to be delivered at the workshop. Proposals should be a maximum of 500 words and should fall into one of the thematic units listed below, relative to one or more of these countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovenia, and Turkey. Possible thematic units include the following:
These papers should focus on the evolution and development of emerging political parties and their ideologies since 1990, and will examine how political parties and campaign strategies have evolved or been influenced by the transition to democracy.
These papers should address the importance of nongovernmental organizations in the region and the impact they have on shaping the public sector and civil society. Papers specifically focused on women's roles in the NGO sector are strongly encouraged.
These papers should address how intellectuals, ideas, and ideologies have shaped the history of the region, with particular attention to their impact within the political and cultural spheres. A number of grants for travel and accommodation are available.
