Kirby to step down
William C. Kirby, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and Geisinger Professor of History, will step down from the deanship at the end of the academic year. He will return to scholarship and teaching, as well as take on a university-wide role in guiding Harvard's expanding array of academic initiatives focused on China, while serving as director of Harvard's John King Fairbank Center for East Asian Research.
