Drugs for hyperactive sperm?
A research team led by Harvard Professor of Cardiology and Neurobiology David Clapham have isolated the protein found in the most determined human sperm, and it could lead to new contraceptives. Above, as a sperm wiggles along, an electrode measures how much electric current is generated by the activity. The orange color marks a protein that provides the hyperactivity needed to swim to an egg.
