Roy J. Glauber wins Nobel in physics

Roy J. Glauber, Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics at Harvard University was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics for his contribution to the quantum theory of optical coherence. Glauber shares the prize with John L. Hall of the University of Colorado and Theodor W. Hansch of the Institute for Quantum Optics in Munich, Germany. Glauber speaks to the media on a phone from his home in Arlington not long after learning of his honor.
